Preventive Measures to ensure Women Safety

There is anger. There is outrage. But where is the justice? Where is the change?

We must not put the blame on women and ask them to be extra careful. Why not ask men not to rape?

Proportion of crimes against women greater only in India, Why?

Representation of women in police work least in India, Why?

Safety remains the top concern and priority for women in India. Ensuring women's safety is not just the responsibility of women, but also the men.

CHALLENGE: Women safety and security & Crimes against Women

Some of the crimes against women are Rape, Honor Killing, Child Abuse, Dowry Death, Acid Attack, Female Foeticide, Trafficking, Child Marriage and more. Safety remains the top concern and priority for women in India. 

CURRENT SYSTEM:

Majorly we have action items like Police, She team, Mobile Apps… etc. Current crime statistics indicate women are more commonly the victims of crime. Till now there are many incidents and there are many ideas although there's no fool-proof way to stop crime.

PREVENTIVE ACTIONS:

One can take preventive measures to ensure women safety,

• Women must be taught self-defense techniques.
• Laws must be made more stringent relating to crimes against women.
• Men should be taught from an early age to respect women and treat them as equals.

If we have to stop the mistakes in the future then that need to stop it today and only LAW can do it. 
I believe Prevention is better than cure.

By following below safety and security tips can significantly decrease chance of becoming a women as a victim.

           1. Awareness Activities: The world is only as safe for women as the community around them makes it.

1.1.   Self-Protect Against Everyday Crime!

By learning self-defense techniques, also using practical common sense methods such as avoid being alone, never go out alone with strangers and never put themselves in potentially dangerous situations.

1.2.   Most Importantly, Men Must Be Taught To Respect Women From An Early Age.

Men must consider women as equals so they don’t even think of harming them. When you consider someone inferior, you tend to oppress them. If this thinking goes away, half of the crimes will automatically end. In short, crimes against women are stopping the growth of our country. We must not put the blame on women and ask them to be extra careful. Instead, we must ask the men to change their thinking and work to make the world a safer place for women.

1.3.   Gender sensitization should be mandatory in growing up kids and should be mandatory course in academics.

    2.  Preventive Measures to ensure women safety:

2.1.  Make Self-defense classes must and free for all girls in all schools and colleges also in corporate and where ever women are there in orgs. And should make an Act that each and every women should learn and certified in self-defense whether it is a girl/lady/women whoever and it should be the minimum qualification for every women should be certified.

2.2.   Major action to take against Control drugs (Alcohol, Tobacco, Ganja etc.) as it is very clear that reason said by accused is due to the drunk they committed to crime.

• Control farming of the drugs like tobacco, ganja etc. and encourage for other food farming which is really needed for all of us to survive. Why encouraging drugs farming which is harmful to human? Why humans playing with their own life?
• Control alcohol distribution shops maintain the limit for that such as shops per distance, time limit to sell, Places to sell and like a ration card provide one card which has limit to drink. So that we can control people to drink less.
• Announce rewards for people to report immediately who have seen unusual things about drugs, abuse etc.

2.3.  Laws must be made more stringent relating to crimes against women. Should execute the punishment immediately in public (like Saudi) for criminals.

2.4.  Representation of women on screen needs to change. Films are most effective way to get into human minds.

2.5.  Ban Adult Content in web in India, this is most impactful issue on people in whatever the age. Even Kids are easily accessing these sites.

2.6.  Action taken against social media trolls threatening rape and abuse. Social media accounts should be authorized so that can take actions against people who abused reportedly in their posts and social media activities. With this we can also control fake social profiles.

2.7.  Exclusive sports academies for women across states to nurture talent and sportiveness will always give self-confidence.

2.8.  Every state gets more fast track courts for swift trials and harsher punishment for rapists.

Due to the lack of sensitivity by the police force, women often don’t report incidences of rape, assault and abuse. It’s time that the police force is offered mandatory training on how to approach and handle such cases.  In the recent Hyderabad rape, the police wasted precious hours by assuming that the vet hadn’t returned home because she may have run away with someone. Training to respond swiftly in such situations will help not just the victims but also, in some cases, save them from death.

          PROS of Preventive Action Items:

•     Prevent Women safety and able to give protection to women in right time.
•     Able to educate and grown up kids (girls and boys) in right manner.
•     Able to increase self-confidence in in women.
•     Able to increase girl’s percent in sports.
•     Able to control drugs like alcohol, tobacco, ganja etc.
•     Able to create healthy and safe environment in society.
•     Able to control fake social profiles.
•     Able to make women confident to report about incidents.
•     Able to bring people oriented service in police department.
•     Reduce Crime rate in women safety and security issues.

   ANALYSIS:

Who? In most of the issues uneducated, ground level workers, people who take drugs those don’t have any moral values and not grown up in ethical environment.

Why? After taking drugs, doing it for nothing.

What? for  Nothing but their physical and mental satisfaction. They are leaving only disasters.

SPECIAL NOTE: As we know Tobacco and Alcohol are drugs that impacts more on people in society. But the bad thing here is govt. only providing those drugs officially.
